Lila Ibrahim
Lila is Google DeepMind (GDM)’s first-ever Chief AI Readiness Officer. Her remit includes helping prepare the world for more powerful & capable AI, leading teams that work across industry, education, government, and civil society to help ready the world for advanced AI.
As GDM’s founding COO, she built the operational foundation that helped scale the organization to where it is today. This commitment led TIME Magazine to recognize Lila among its list of AI’s 100 Most Influential People twice. In 2026, during the Royal Academy of Engineering’s 50th-anniversary year, she was elected as a Fellow (FREng), recognizing her significant engineering contributions during her career—from the computing evolution to the AI era.
Previously, Lila held executive positions at Coursera, Kleiner Perkins, and Intel. She co-founded and is Board Chair Emerita at Team4Tech.
The daughter of immigrants and a mom of twins, Lila is driven by the belief that we must build technology with society, rather than having it happen to them.
