Our mission is to improve the quality of education for learners in under-resourced communities by building NGO capacity through technology solutions and training. 

Team4Tech’s accelerator programming contributes to UN SDG 4 – to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Using evidence-based practices that promote education for employability, our accelerator programming co-designed with community-based and education-focused NGOs operating in low-resource environments includes:

  • Access to facilitated regional hubs (in Africa, South Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the USA & Canada) for localized collaboration;
  • Access to a robust, global online Community of Practice to engage with free education and technology tools, workshops, certification courses, and resources;
  • Access to skilled volunteers and corporate and educational resource partners to deliver pro-bono capacity-building projects and
  • Access to funding, amplification, and coaching to further promote NGO sustainability.

Our work is scaling through 2027, from building capacity for 50 nonprofits annually to supporting 800+ nonprofits that directly serve millions of under-resourced learners worldwide.  

Position Purpose

With our scaling in mind, we are seeking a Data Director to lead data strategy, architecture, and management to ensure the smooth functioning of the day-to-day operations of our entire distributed team by managing our CRM (Salesforce), impact data (Airtable), and other systems (i.e. Google, Zoom, etc.). This position will act as a bridge to connect data systems across Team4Tech’s growth (i.e. revenue), program, and operations teams. 

In the first three months of work, you can expect to conduct an organization-wide analysis of data systems, program impact data, revenue data, and more to develop a clear vision for architecting the work. This will take deep collaboration across teams and the ability to delegate tasks and plans to various teams, as well as lead the process to coach your teammates on how to track and clean data accurately.

Allocation of Work

  • Growth Team – 30%
    • Manage Salesforce CRM including, for example
      • Enhance existing architecture and build campaigns and reports to track donors and corporate partners including their giving and activities;
      • Manage monthly revenue reconciliation with the Chief Growth Officer, including gift coding and revenue data uploads (Apsona);
      • Support with data activities related to fundraising campaigns and partner events (i.e. pulling donor reports, attendee lists, etc.)
      • Facilitate integrations with Campaign Monitor, Classy, and other platforms for effective donor and partner communications related to events and gifts/partnerships tracking
  • Program Team – 30%
    • Upon onboarding, conduct a full assessment of the program impact data infrastructure, then
    • Using primarily Salesforce, Airtable, Google Analytics, and Notion, work with the program team, to:
      • Build architecture for capturing program data.
      • In collaboration with the team, develop evaluation architecture including dashboards and interfaces, for measuring and reporting on program impact data.
      • Improve processes and systems for data capture, and analysis for better partner relationship management
      • Automate surveys and reporting to improve program team efficiencies and evaluate program effectiveness from all stakeholders.
  • Operations and Marketing – 25%
    • Train new staff on data systems relevant to their role as part of onboarding.
    • Support the creation of operations evaluations and analyze and report back on findings (e.g. staff satisfaction survey, staff retreat surveys)
    • Support Team4Tech’s digital security and data compliance.
    • Support the Director of Marketing with Team4Tech’s website, including communicating with vendors.
  • Ongoing work includes – 15%
    • Ongoing training for staff adoption of data technology tools.
    • High-level data management and maintenance.
    • Development of standard operating procedures and user manuals.
    • Staff training for protocols and tools.
    • Create and manage data syncs between various databases, using third-party platforms as needed.
    • Research and make recommendations on technology and tools (CRMs, donor research software, etc).
    • Manage data backups and facilitate GDPR-compliant archiving and archival removal of data.
    • Monitor performance and work with vendors on fixes.
    • Configure databases and forms.
    • Provide user support.
    • Other duties as they emerge.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in collaborative data strategy, architecture, and management. You are a systems thinker, enjoy learning new technologies, and understand how accurate data systems can drive organizational impact. You naturally take ownership, can navigate unfamiliar settings, have an agile mindset, and enjoy working collaboratively with a small team but independently on projects as an expert in data systems. You have a knack for communicating very technical language in terms that are easy to understand.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of Salesforce administration, architecture, and automation technologies (like Flows and data modeling) experience (as either an in-house admin or a consultant), particularly with Salesforce Lightning and NPSP (nonprofit success package).
  • Proficiency with the following tools:
    • Airtable
    • Campaign Monitor (or similar marketing platform)
    • Apsona (or similar)
    • Zapier (or similar)
    • Classy (or similar donations platform)
    • Notion (or similar)
  • Experience with Google Suite
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
  • Ability to communicate technical information and jargon in terms that global teammates easily understand.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • At least 1-year of managerial experience.
  • Admin or Advanced Admin Salesforce certifications (Self-taught admins without certifications are encouraged to apply).
  • Experience implementing GDPR Compliance standards.

Location

Team4Tech is a remote-first workplace. All roles are remote full-time, with the expectation that the employee is willing and able to travel periodically to team retreats and events.

We are open to all candidates who are legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. 

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience and geographic location, ranging from $90,000-$110,000 per year. Benefits include health insurance stipend, internet stipend, unlimited leave, and voluntary 401k contributions.
