Goal: Conduct workshops and utilize toolkits on design and media skills at CCF’s NCA.
Background: At the Steung Meanchey garbage dump in Cambodia, hundreds of children use to scavenge through garbage or beg on the streets to survive. The garbage dump was closed in 2009 but this community continues to live in extreme poverty.
Partner: Since 2004, the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF) has provided support through education, leadership, community outreach, healthcare, childcare, and vocational training for around 2,000 children and their families. The education program of CCF (Neeson Cripps Academy) provides a pathway out of the hardship, ensuring that students graduate with a strong sense of social justice and a commitment to making a better future not just for themselves, but for their community and country.
Project: Adobe and Workday corporate volunteers supported CCF’s Neeson Cripps Academy (NCA) to advance the digital media skills of their teachers and students. Volunteers supported CCF in setting up a STEAM toolkit to share with other schools and teachers. Volunteers also conducted teacher and student workshops on Adobe Creative Cloud. CCF students now have advanced digital design and media skills, creating greater job opportunities as they graduate.
