Mariel Sanchez
As Program Director, Mariel is responsible for managing skilled volunteer projects and supporting nonprofit partners at Team4Tech.
Prior to joining Team4Tech, Mariel was Senior Director of Program Impact at Compudopt where she led the development, implementation, and evaluation of technology education programs in under-resourced communities. These included STEAM and workforce development programming for youth and digital literacy for adults. Before that, she built a mentorship program for refugee youth at PAIR Houston. In this role, she managed and trained volunteer mentors and guided students in their paths toward high school graduation and access to post-secondary education.
Mariel has worked in nonprofit and social impact organizations in the U.S. and abroad for more than 15 years. She has extensive experience in project management, strategic planning, communications, curriculum development, volunteer management, program design, monitoring, and impact evaluation. She is passionate about working with others to find and implement solutions that meet community needs, promote equitable education and economic opportunities, and work to create positive change.
Mariel graduated from The Fletcher School at Tufts University with a master’s degree in international affairs and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, running, dancing, and exploring the outdoors.
