CorStone’s Youth Empowerment Program
According to the World Bank, Bihar has historically been one of India’s most impoverished states. High poverty rates have dire implications for marginalized groups such as lower castes and women. Limited access to education and economic opportunities has led young girls to marry and have children before the age of 18.
CorStone’s mission is to deliver personal resilience programs to improve the well-being of youth, focusing on adolescent girls to be critical change agents in their communities. They believe that cultivating emotional resilience is a foundational step in helping youth to thrive – one which is often missing in development programs worldwide. CorStone’s evidence-based programs impact three interdependent factors in giving young girls the tools to flourish despite the significant challenges they face: emotional health, physical health, and education.
Capacity-Building Workshops for Adolescent
Team4Tech has partnered with CorStone since 2020 to identify and train staff on the EdApp learning management system (LMS), which has helped them scale their efforts to remote regions, train more teachers and equip more young girls with the resilience needed to be change agents in their communities.
In this current project, AppDynamics volunteers collaborated with CorStone to strengthen their knowledge management systems by recommending products with future scale and partnerships in mind. They delivered capacity-building workshops for staff on communication and collaboration tools. Volunteers also built a reliable, easy-to-use training costing model for CorStone staff to use during the planning and budgeting process. With the support of 11 volunteers and Team4Tech, CorStone will amplify its impact on over 75,000 students and teachers across India and Africa.
