Launching technology and design innovation workshops in Rwanda

 In 2018, Project Summary

Goal: Train teachers with the skills to teach maker and technology-based classes

Project: Employee volunteers from DocuSign and Cloudera partnered with Team4Tech and Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology (GGAST) in Gashora, Rwanda, to deliver a series of technology and design innovation workshops in December 2018 for GGAST teachers, staff, and community partners. The workshops included training in “maker” activities, robotics, coding, design, and digital foundations, and included example activities and lessons for applying Project-Based Learning principles to the existing GGAST core curriculum. In addition to teacher-training workshops and skills practice, the employee volunteers coached the GGAST teachers in delivering workshops to the students, using the new material they had just learned days before.
